That Old Hell Magic by Justin R. Macumber
Book Description: Demons, magic, and the Sunset Strip. For Detective Darcy Winters, it’s just another day on the job as he walks into the hottest nightclub in Los Angeles to hunt down an unlicensed succubus. What he finds, however, is far more than he bargained for, and what should have been a routine bust quickly becomes a fight for his life, perhaps even his soul.
My Review: This story was very atmospheric. It takes place in a future LA on Sunset Boulevard where there is a jazz club called Perdition. The story opens with detective Winters watching a beautiful demon succubus entertain the crowd with her amazing voice. I’ll tell you what, this story has it all. Magic, werewolves, vampires, wraiths and demons. Oh and what story would be complete without a hellhound? Honest. All of them are packed into this little, tiny story that is over before you know it.
If you’re looking for something to read this Halloween season perhaps in between trick- or- treaters, you can’t go wrong with this little story. I give you fair warning though. You will not want to put it down. It’s action packed and things do not go smoothly for detective Winters. It was so much fun.
